Сколоршипы, оплата учебы, проживание и кредиты из хай скула

У меня старший ребенок поступает на следующий год
Делаю ресерч, определились с планами
Университет выбрали

Если за все платить самим, то $10 000 в год
Но есть сколоршипы- стипендии
Если все правельно планировать то обучение бесплатное, или дешево 

В любом случае я вижу что очень доступно всем, главное хорошо учиться

Alumni Legacy Scholarship

Are you a nonresident student? Did one or both of your parents graduate from SUU? If so, you may be eligible for the Alumni Legacy Scholarship. To apply, students must:
Be admitted and enrolled as a first time, nonresident student within the state system of higher education
Have at least one parent who graduated with an associate's degree or higher from University 
Please note: If you accept an Alumni Legacy Scholarship, you will not be eligible to gain Utah Residency. For more information, please contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships 
Alumni Legacy Scholarships awards are limited and will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
There are two Alumni Legacy scholarship tiers.
Tier 1: Four Year Renewable Scholarship- $10,500 per year
Tier 2: Four Year Renewable Scholarship- $7,000 per year

Current Students
An application for currents students is available each November with a February 1st deadline. This application has scholarship opportunities including: Department and Endowment scholarships.
 
Scholarship housing
Scholarship Housing is a partial housing award redeemable through Leavitt Land & Investment. If awarded, the scholarship will cover 75% of your rent and you will be responsible for the remaining 25%. 
The February 1 deadline has passed, we are no longer accepting new scholarship housing applications.
 
Private Scholarships
Some organizations offer educational funding which must be filtered through our office if you are receiving federal aid. Organizations that offer such funds may be (but are not limited to) the following: high schools, churches, employers, clubs to which you or your parents belong (Rotary, Elks, Daughters of the American Revolution, etc.), organizations for which you have done volunteer work, and possible future employers.
You may also seek private scholarships through websites such as http://www.zinch.com/. DO NOT PAY FOR ASSISTANCE IN FINDING SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL AID. We can offer the same services for free through our office. Please contact Nellie Lee for additional information on private scholarships.

nyk, на все эти стипендии надо ж финансово квалифицироваться, то есть, надо чтоб у родителей практически не было денег. А в остальных случаях, пролетите как фанера над Парижем, хоть там 4.0 GPA будь.

не надо на все финансово. Есть стипендии академические. Там на финансы не смотрят, смотрят на успехи в определённых областях. СОбственно выше всё описано.

Я специально не выставляла ни чего по поводу финансовых и фифсы
Этого полно в учебе и работе

Я собираю информацию сугубо по мерит
Почитайтк мой список
Стирлинг сколор, лидершип, всякие ротери клубы и тд итп
Все это не требует ни какой информации о ваших финансах
Но требует планирования с вашей стороны, и работы со стороны ребенка

Девочки в других темах писали что дети получили мерит стипендии ( Космо, Артемида и другие)
Я бы хотела что бы они поделились какой gpa и скоры по АСТ и SAT у них были
Что бы у родителей было представлегие к чему стремиться и над чем работать

Мы тоже на следующий год выпускаемся. Пока стоим твердо на "идти в нэви". А после хочет учиться на стоматолога... Мамадарахая!
Еще через год степка старшая выпускается. Тоже хочет прямиком в университет. Мы настаиваем на том, чтобы взяла пару классов для начало в КК колледже. Сопротивляется и не хочет... Короче, у нас попадалово конкретно....

Application Deadlines

academic scholarships will be awarded based on grade point average and the date when the scholarship application is submitted. Since there are more students applying for scholarships than there are available funds, the earlier you apply the more competitive you will be in receiving a scholarship.

Also, be sure to apply for all other scholarships before the following dates.

New Freshmen & Re-Admitted Students

These dates do not apply for students auditioning for activity waivers in the Department of Performing Arts. 

Applying for scholarships after deadline dates
If you apply after the initial scholarship deadline you're placed on an alternate list for any awarding that may become available. Generally, alternate awarding does not occur until the spring semester of the academic year.

Renewing scholarships
Scholarships are awarded on a year-to-year basis. You need to update your scholarship information annually. The only exceptions are the Ann Millner Presidential Scholarships, which are awarded for eight semesters.

Putting a scholarship on hold (deferment)
Once you are admitted  and have accepted a scholarship, if there are extenuating circumstances, you can request to have a scholarship put on hold for you. You would need to fill out a scholarship deferment application . Deferments can be used for medical, community service or military service purposes. Deferments for work purposes or to attend another institution will be denied.

Using your scholarship to pay tuition
Once you have registered, as long as you have fulfilled the requirements to accept your particular scholarship, the scholarship is automatically deducted from your total billing at the cashier’s office.

Accepting your scholarship
In some cases, after you have been awarded a scholarship, there are certain steps you need to take to accept it. For some scholarships you need to log into the student portal and accept your scholarship. For private donor-based scholarships, please write a thank you letter to the donor . Until you fulfill the necessary requirements to accept a scholarship  it will not be deducted from your tuition.

Declaring a major
If you have reached junior or senior status (60 or more semester hours by the end of fall semester) you need to declare a major to be considered for academic scholarships. Departmental scholarships are only available to you if your declared major is within the department. You can declare your major through your academic advisor or department secretary.

Receiving more than one scholarship
If you have multiple tuition waiver offers you can combine scholarships up to the value of full in-state tuition. But if the scholarship is an unrestricted scholarship, you can accept multiple offers up to the value of tuition, fees and books not to exceed 150 percent of tuition.


Types of classes you can take using your scholarship
Tuition waivers do not waive tuition for distance learning, contract courses, credit/non credit courses, audit courses and most independent study or study abroad programs. Many of these are cash-only programs. Otherwise, all other programs — on-line courses, night courses, off-campus courses — are open to scholarship usage.

Taxability of scholarships
The IRS states that only “qualified" expenses can be excluded from income. Qualified educational expenses generally cover tuition, fees, books and supplies or equipment required for a class. Some scholarship expenditures do not qualify and may not be excluded from a recipient’s gross income. You should check with the IRS or a qualified tax preparer before excluding any scholarship amounts from gross income.

Девы, ну чего вы пишите не зная. Полно сколаршип не основанных на доходе. У меня и муж и его братья на таких учились. На доходы семьи не смотрели. Говорю об undegrad, а не graduate.

Сдавать можно много раз, потом использовать для поступления самый лучший скор
